York Community Pride supports local groups and projects that make a visible improvement to the environment.
In the past this fund has supported bulb planting, removing graffiti and rubbish and larger projects like the pond-dipping platform at Moorlands Nature Reserve. In 2010 York Community Pride contributed £16,444 to the improvement of areas of York. The fund has encouraged flowers to bloom in planters, hanging baskets and once neglected, overgrown and forgotten patches of land, as well as encouraging wildlife by planting hedges and encouraging environmental awareness through information points. |
