Two Ridings Community Foundation

Knabs Ridge Wind Farm
Community Benefit Fund

As well as producing electricity, the Knabs Ridge Wind Farm near Harrogate, created a Community Benefit Fund to support local projects identified by local people for as long as the turbines continue to operate.

The Knabs Ridge Fund has funded refurbishments and renovations, as well as new equipment for playgroups, drama clubs, sports facilities and the Hampsthwaite Post Office.

The Fund has also helped counter the 'digital divide' by financing public internet and computer access to Darley Memorial Hall and Hampsthwaite Memorial Hall.
